Classmates in Memory

Billy Wade Fulton

I was notified today of Billy's passing on 12/23/24.  His wife, Linda, shared that he had courageously battled cancer for some time. Join me in keeping Linda and family in your prayers and may we find comfort in memories of our classmate; one of the good guys.  RIP Billy.

Billy Wade Fulton was born December 30, 1947, in Memphis, Tennessee to Willy Fulton and Mary Ruth Blackwell Fulton. Billy went to be with our Lord and Savior on December 23, 2024. He was the oldest of seven children. Billy is preceded in death by his parents and four of his siblings, Larry, Danny, Rose, and Carl. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Ivy Fulton of Santa Fe, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Phillip White, Sr. of Wylie, Texas; nephew, Phillip White, Jr. and wife, Carrie; niece, Heather White all of Wylie, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Billy Johnson of Paris, Texas; Billy’s best friend of over sixty years, Michael Lloyd and Cynthia Griffith of Midlothian, Texas; stepsons and wives, Ryan and Kristan, and Ross and Karen Battistoni of Santa Fe, Texas; six grandchildren whom he loved and adored, Hunter, Audrey, Finley, Mack, Cora, and Luke; sisters-in-law and husbands, Sandra Ivy and Terry Dickey of Sugar Land, Texas, and Jane Ivy and Richard Fox of Santa Fe, Texas; nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Billy was a proud Marine serving from 1967-1976; over seven of those years in active duty with two tours in Vietnam and participating in the evacuation of Saigon. A quote which sums up Billy’s life as a Marine and his twenty-year battle with cancer is by G.K. Chesterton: “Courage is almost a contradiction in terms. It means a strong desire to live taking the form of readiness to die.” Pops, we love and miss you always. Memorial Services will be January 11, 2025, from 11:00-12:00p.m. with Visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Fwy. Texas City, TX 77591.
