Jim Moreland

James Russell Moreland
Born 8/3/46
Died 5/24/16
Loved and Cherished by his wife, Elizabeth Vansyckle Moreland; his children Steve Moreland and Stephanie Lewis and husband Terry Lewis; granddaughters Jasmyn Lewis and Jada Lewis; grandsons Steve Moreland, Jr and Jonathan Moreland; his niece Kim Carney and husband David Miller; nephews John Moreland, David Moreland, Matt Miller, Greg Kenny, and Todd Kenny; great niece Mason Miller; Wonderful brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law he adored; cousins and beloved friends.

Jim served in the United States Marine Corps with two tours of duty in Vietnam. Once a marine always a marine proudly giving an “oorah” to his fellow marines. Stopping to thank all his fellow service men and women for their service. Patriotic and willing to serve again if asked.

After a long career in the telecommunications industry, Jim worked assisting with funerals. His warmth, caring, and respect for the deceased and grieving loved ones eased this difficult time for so many.

Jim was full of kindness, generosity, humor, sensitivity, and wisdom. His compassion and understanding of this world grew as few of us are able to achieve. His love was a quiet, simple, and profoundly deep love for all who were blessed to know him.

He will be laid to rest at 12:30 the same day at DFW National Cemetery.
