Lovita grew up in Oak Cliff and became a well-known artist for painting Bluebonnets. Lovita Choat Irby was well known in Texas for sure and probably in other places. Her friendships touched the neighbor next door to the well known in other places. Her friendly smile and attitude touched the lives of many, has died from COVID. She's been sick most of Jan 2021.
She and her husband Ken met as teenagers working on Theater Row in downtown Dallas.

I have many regrets about my school years. I was incredibly shy, most took that to mean i was conceded.I was not conceded, just shy. Amoung my many regrets was that I didn't reach out to my classmates to get to know them. I remember Lovita being in a couple of my classes. I don't know if we ever exchanged a word or not but I do remember her as also being shy but kind.
