Carletta (Corkey) Connally (Brigance)

     BRIGANCE, Carletta A. "Corkey" Corkey was born June 17, 1947 in Orange TX to Ila Faye and Carl Connally and was welcomed into the Lord's Kingdom Tues. Feb. 24,2015. She was raised by her mother and stepfather Bill Bynum and grew up in Oak Cliff, a graduate of Sunset High School in 1965 and went on to achieve a successful career in the banking and mortgage loan insurance industry as an executive secretary and mortgage loan underwriter. She operated her own successful secretarial service since 1987 specializing in transcription of filmed interviews, movie scripts, commercial ads and teleconferences. Corkey is survived by her loving husband, Bob, her son Todd and grandchildren Kylie and Todd B. She is also survived by two sisters and their husbands, Rendy and Eric Brown, Glynda (Binky) and James Hodges, and sister-in-law, Linda Connally. She was blessed by numerous nieces, nephews and their children. Corkey was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Bill Bynum and her brother, Doug Connally. She will be remembered by all as a loving, caring person with a huge heart known for her laughter and joy of life. Corkey knew the Lord as her Savior and we look forward to the day when we can all be together again. Until then, she will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Visitation will be at Restland Funeral Home, Greenville Ave., Thurs., March 5, 6-8 pm. Services will be Friday, March 6 at 2:30 at Restland with graveside following at Sparkman-Hillcrest.

I can not believe Corkey is gone.  We did everything together our junior and senior year in Sunset Hight School.  I spent time at her home and she came to my house many times.  I am looking for pictures of us on "Tackey Day" at Sunset.  She will be missed and I am left with wonderful memories.
