Sunset High SchoolRSS feed for all messages.Grandkids<p> Now this is a topic I think most of us have plenty to say about. I got started raising kids when I was 31, so I am a late grandma. I don't regret the 10 years Gordon and I played while all our peers had families. Just made me the oldest mom in the PTA. </p>
<p> We just had #6 grand child. A beautiful little girl named Sarah Abigail. Her sister, Alicia Noelle is 21 months and beautiful too. Now are not all our grand kids the most beautiful of all.</p>
<p> So now my concern lies in the public school system and the "hog wash" the system is and will be feeding my grands. It was bad enough in the late 90's and early 2000's as my own kids were graduating but things have gone down hill at a gallop and I don't like it at all. The gall of the "powers that be" when it comes to changing our history books, dictating what can and can not be said and learned in a classroom and the complete over emphasis of not offending anyone (except of course, the white, middle class, hardworking citizens who can be ignored, trashed and spit upon by anyone and expected to live with it). </p>
<p> I'm really sick of bending over and taking it...you know where. Can we not do something to turn this mess around?</p>

I even discovered I finally qualify for Seniors Monday at the local department store, 10% off all purchases. Can't imagine why people make such a big deal out of getting older. It has been nothing but a blessing for me. Kids finally grown, grandkids coming along, retirement, what's to be upset about. Guess I'm an optimistic kind of gal, for with each new day there are wonderful things to see, hear and smell: the amazing swirl in a rose, the quack of geese flying over head or the clean air after the rain. Never forget the little things for they are what makes the world a beautiful place to live. God is quite awesome! </p>
